A former Senior Artist with the Australian Ballet, Chris danced professionally for 17 years, firstly with the Birmingham Royal Ballet before returning to Australia. He has worked with internationally acclaimed choreographers in including Christopher Wheeldon, Justin Peck & Wayne McGregor, and has danced numerous principal roles with the company including Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Konstantin Levin in Anna Karenina and the Prince in The Nutcracker.
Chris’s entry into photography began during injury rehabilitation, with friends Tom Blachford and Kate Ballis inspiring him to pick up a camera. Since 2020, he has captured The Australian Ballet, with his work featured in Vogue, New York Times and Broadsheet, as well as in collaborations with various fashion brands.
Chris’s passion for photography stems from a lifelong love of storytelling through art, music, and dance. He aims to capture the intimate, unseen moments of dancers' dedication in the studio and the powerful storytelling on stage, inviting audiences to connect more closely with the artistry and humanity of dance.
Away from the stage, Chris completed a Bachelor of Arts and Psychology in 2024 and is pursuing a psychology master’s degree. His creative work spans writing, dance, photography, and arts education, with his writing featured in Australian Ballet ‘Behind Ballet’ Blog and the Fjord Review.
